Dr C. Pama, the well-known expert on heraldry, designed the badge for our school in February 1966.Because this was a new school in a completely new town, there was no historical background to be symbolised and so a new badge with suitable symbolic meaning was created. The pointed shield has upon it a pair of azure wings and the Gules Fleur-de-lis between two six-pointed stars.
Symbolically the points represent mountain peaks rising up in strength. With some imagination this could be associated with the Tygerberg. The fleur-de-lis represents purity. The stars and the wings, taken together with the other symbols, make the meaning of our motto perfectly clear.
